As soon as you arrive at the airport the Sun Siyam service begins. Staff are on hand to help you get checked in and sort your bags for the seaplane, where they then shuttle you across to wait in their own lounge. Since you can be waiting a few hours for your seaplane depending on the weather, this is a nice touch (we only had a 40 minute wait). There are complimentary massages, showers and refreshments which is great after a long flight. Arriving at the island, you are greeted by management and your butler, who then takes you through the island and paperwork with a glass of bubbles! The island is particularly well managed, with management cocktail parties each week and regular requests for feedback. Management are often wandering around to check all is okay with your stay, in particular, we thought it was a nice touch with Mohamed stopping by the restaurants and checking in with each table in the evenings. As we were out of season, the main restaurant was shut in the evenings but there is a very good range of other restaurants and bars available, and we could not fault the food at any. Flavours in particular was outstanding and the staff here were amazing, as was the service by the staff at Water's Edge. The butler service means you have a regular go to person to help you with anything during your stay, from a tour of the island to booking your excursions and evening meals so you really don't need to think about anything. Special thanks to Naveen for whom nothing was too much trouble, was always on hand if we needed anything. The island itself is wonderful, gorgeous sand and stunning blue waters. Out of season we often found we were the only ones on our stretch of beach or using the pools which we loved. Given the time of year there is maintenance going on (rebuilding of beaches, villa maintenance) but this didn't affect our holiday and was interesting to see. We saw a range of sea life (dolphins, rays, sharks) which was amazing, and snorkeling around our water villa was great for seeing smaller fish. The facilities on the island are good, with a range of watersports and recreation activities available. We loved our treatments at the spa, and the hydrotherapy which you can use daily was great for those more rainy days. We stayed in a beach and water villa, and enjoyed both. We loved the outdoor bathroom of the beach villa and having your own section of the beach, whilst the water villa was great for being mosquito free and easy access to the water. Housekeeping come twice a day at a time that suits you, and we loved the towel arrangments on the bed each day. The service from all staff was amazing, always stopping to chat and make sure you had everything you needed. Thank you all for an amazing stay and we look forward to our next visit! Read Less

We enjoyed four wonderful nights at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, this was the second part of our honeymoon after spending 6 nights on the neighbouring island Siyam World. Our host Shahu was incredible! Such a kind and welcoming gentleman he provided an exemplary introduction to the island and was the most tentative host we had on our trip. He has excellent knowledge of the resort and helped us with general queries such as dinner times as well as helping book in-villa dining such as the floating breakfast. The resort itself was so peaceful, the staff are so attentive and gentle, they can not do enough for you and provide every drink or snack with a smile. I would particularly like to call out Shimrah in the waters edge who provided my husband with the strongest Long Island ice tea he has ever had 🤣 (I’m not sure if he would thank you though!) I would also like to give special thanks to Naresh who catered our ‘I Love You Dinner’ the most romantic experience of my life. Naresh was a fantastic server bringing us excellent recommendations and ensuring our glasses were always topped up! Also shout out to Mohammed who wasn’t our host but always made sure to stop on his scooter when he went past just to say hello and make sure we were having a lovely trip. I would recommend early September as a perfect time to visit the island it was not too busy and felt very intimate but the weather was still incredibly pleasant despite being the supposed rainy season. We had the most amazing honeymoon and would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a trip to remember! And hopefully you are fortunate enough to get Shahu as your host to ensure your stay is truly 5*! (He may even join you for some kareoke if you’re lucky!) Read Less
