The water is the most amazing colour and the snorkelling is incredible without having the swim very far out. We had half board and paid for our alcohol but aren't big drinkers. Would recommend including the drink package if you like a few drinks. Food will cater to every need and happy for requests. Theme nights and A la Cart - all delicious. View from the 2 bars and restaurants are just beautiful. Super comfort king beds with high quality linen, big soft white towels. Spotless clean throughout. Enjoyed the gym - latest equipment. All staff and professional & friendly and eager to please to ensure your stay is memorable. The view from the seaplane is special. Didn't want to leave and hope to return again in the future. While the weather wasn't the best the first few days (to be expected this time of year), they gave us so many activities to do during the rainy days. As the sun came out, we really saw the beauty of the property and got to fully enjoy all the resort has to offer. We especially loved the snorkeling by the villa, the beach and off resort. The staff went above and beyond. We had a personal butler, Allah, who helped with all of our requests and really made our honeymoon special. This personalized service from him, as well as each and every member of staff (all learning our names very quickly) just really made it a great experience. The resort is super-clean and housekeeping did an amazing job every day of keeping our villa top-notch. We've stayed in a few resorts in the Maldives before and Alila is far and beyond our favorite. We have stayed at myriad customer oriented properties all over the world, including many of your best resorts such as Park Hyatt St Kitts, Park Hyatt Vendome, Park Hyatt Milano, Park Hyatt Vienna, Andaz Mayakoba, and many many more, but out of all of these experiences, ours at Alila Kothaifaru Maldives takes the cake! Villa Host Alla anticipated our needs 24 hours a day and all the way until the end of our time there. He really helped us feel at home. Faiz warmly welcomed us upon our landing in MLE and saw us off at the airport at the end or our trip; this continuity was comforting! On the restaurant side, Paul, Ugyen, Raj, Justus, all the way up to Rohit were so attentive; both the service and food were exceptional. Samih was consistently kind and took care of us especially when we went out to the Shack. Yoga with Harsh was wonderful, and my wife said her 2 massages with Mimi were the best ever experienced. Housekeepoing was excellent as well, Aiham did an amazing job. Egor and Chelsea from the water sports center took care of us and their love and passion for the preservation of marine life was wonderful to see. Sadha was always positive and an effectvie Maldives ambassador. Aneel and Jamal take great care to listen to our points of feedback during our time at Alila, which exceeded our expectations, receiving this kind of attention from the front office. No doubt this comes from GM Thomas Weber, who was quite accessible and went out of his way to spend time wtih us and ensure a memorable stay on the occasion of our milestone wedding anniversary. Mosquitoes were not a problem at all. Highlights of our stay, beyond the service we received, in no particular order: -The Shack -Snorkeling & dolphin cruise -Swimming in the ocean -Every culinary experience -Well designed rooms, our water villa was gorgeous -Back of the house tour -Opportunities to learn about Maldivian food and culture, and about local marine life and conservation efforts -The seaplane experience -Impeccable house keeping and clean facilites throughout the resort -Understated elegance Because of all of this, on way journey home, we were already plotting our return trip next year!
