Cinnamon Velifushi was a great choice for our 11 night honeymoon in absolute paradise, exploring the beautiful island, receiving world class service and relaxing! The island itself is everything you imagine with crystal white sands, plenty of space to explore and a clear warm ocean. We went at the start of September and had mixed sunny and cloudy days throughout our trip. Some of the storms on the night however were incredible! Watching lightning over the sea was an experience we won’t forget. The temperature was 29 all day and night. The Room - It was incredible with an extremely large comfy bed, huge patio doors, a great shower and looking onto a large balcony with a hammock over the sea! Brilliant room service by Sameel who looked after us and went above and beyond on a number occasions. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the balcony enjoying the sun (a bit too much in my case) and walking down the steps snorkelling amongst the fish (and stingrays) during the days. Life jackets were in the room and even rain coats which was a nice touch. The Food - The food was great, across breakfast, lunch and dinner, with completely different meals each night. Big thankyou to Afsal for the great service and chats throughout the stay. The pasta stations and the amazing meat chef were excellent. There is one main restaurant to eat in with options to pay for eating outside which looks great however we didn’t get chance to experience this. The Gym - we never expected to go here but I’m so glad we did. Mihira (PT sport supervisor) is the friendliest and funniest associate on the resort! He got us through the workouts laughing the whole time. He is extremely knowledgeable and a great motivator! Mihira is a credit to the island. The Bar - We spent most of our evenings in the Pool Bar which had a great atmosphere and an excellent drinks service with anything we wanted available. Special thank you goes to Bassam who was only new working at the resort but was so welcoming and is a great addition to the team! Excursions - There were plenty of excursions available, and the one we chose was the swim with sharks and sea turtle trip! It was unbelievable, we got some amazing go pro videos. We would defintiely recommend this for anyone! We met some great friends, had so many laughs, and would definitely return one day. Read Less

We sat and watched dolphins, black tipped reef sharks and a variety of rays from our balcony. The room kept so clean by Abdulla who was so courteous of our 1 year olds naps. Tip: be sure to try both sides of the water bungalows and we saw a turtle on the opposite side to ours as there is far more reef. They have an amazing selection of great food. Be sure to try the items off the grills as this is far fresher. And the pasta was great. The staff are also incredible…!! Pooja, one of the hosts was kind and always remembered where you said you were going that day, which made it really personal. Mohamed and Muje were our waiters. These guys were so much fun as well as patient, we had a weening toddler so they were so kind about his mess!! Another guy I really wanted to mention was Hassan, who made our little boy plant animals all week and on our last few days made him a huge bird, that he loved. The Fen bar was lovely, the entertainment but pretty chilled but it’s not a party destination so was nice to just sit and drink and listen. Shameem… the bar tender has a drink suggestion to suit any mood!! Be sure to ask him what he would recommend based on your own tastes. Lastly, the excursions. Book these early as we wish we had done more. We swam with sharks and turtles, 10/10 would absolutely recommend. We had to go separate as under 8s are not allowed but the guides were fantastic at helping film us as we were on our own. Lovely guys. The spa is worth a visit. It’s probably a little higher than you would expect to pay for a spa treatment back home but they regularly do offers so catch the women at the pool and they can tell you what offers. I would definitely recommend trying this. Such a wonderful experience. Extra tips: 9:30pm, visit the jetty to see the nursing sharks If travelling by speed boat with under 7s, they do not have life jackets that fit so be prepared to hold them as it’s bumpy (but great fun). Visit the Marlin restaurant at sunset, they don’t serve food but the views are beautiful. Read Less
