From the minute you arrive at Male airport the friendly courteous staff assist you on your way to the paradise island firstly taking you to their seaplane waiting lounge which is a lovely setting with food & drink & the option to have a shower. Arriving at the resort we were met by guest services staff and our host for our holiday Amazing Aflaah - he was there for us for anything at all , communicating by WhatsApp. His friendliness, courtesy, knowledge, assistance in booking restaurant’s & activities, chauffeuring us , basically help with anything at all was an exceptional service & made our holiday so special . We hope to return & will definitely request Aflaah as our host . Food & beverage - we opted for premium all inc. - drinks choices were very good, Upul the friendliest wine server you will ever come across, he knew what our usual drinks were at every restaurant & gave other suggestions once he got to know us - what a great way to start our meal when Upul came to the table . The food at all the restaurants was exceptional, our favourite was Kanusan Japanese a la carte, we hadn’t had Japanese before but were guided by chef Beni- another wonderful member of staff- so friendly & chatty even though he was clearly very busy . The buffet Beach Kitchen is very good with 4 cooking stations & a large indoor area which helps keep the food fresh , Saif & Nauppe were exceptional servers here , always a smile & prompt attention. Food at Arabian Grill was very good & Crabshack at its fantastic location at the end of the sandbank was very good. . We are novice snorkellers so the house reef being very close was great for us, we saw so many amazing fish from our lagoon villa & from the beach . Water villa was beautiful, high quality fixtures & fittings , a large deck with daybed, rocking chairs & sunbeds, 3 showers & a bath . Well stocked mini bar. The whole resort is very well kept, all staff are very good. We came away feeling we were leaving our family behind, it was a very emotional time - tears because we were leaving shows how we loved Finolhu & their staff . Anyone considering visiting this wonderful resort, all I can say is hesitate no longer. It is truly amazing and full of wonderful people who will do anything to give you the holiday of your dreams. The resort itself is absolutely stunning with a wonderful. All I can say about the food is it is absolutely exquisite. We loved the Japanese and would put it on par, if not better than ROKA in London. We went there numerous times and it was absolutely sublime every time. The Kitchen Restaurant is also fab offering buffet type meals and each night has a theme. We loved tha Asian night but every other night we visited it never disappointed. There is a grill area where you pick out which meat or fish your like and they cook it to your liking. The huge prawns were delicious. Lunchtime at the buffet also offers a huge selection from pizza, freshly made pasta (again cooked fresh with your choice of toppings - the pesto pasta was outstanding), salad, freshly cooked meat and fish, soup etc. honestly the food is unbelievable. A huge array of desserts is also available to freely choose from. The Crab Shack is not to be missed. The best prawns and lobster linguine ever. The drinks option are ace. The rooms are amazing. Very spacious and waking up looking out to the clear Indian Ocean is a memory we will cherish. We were lucky enough to see reef sharks, rays p, dolphins and many other wonderful colourful fish from the comfort of our own deck. Pure bliss. The resort offer a wide selection of activities and we opted to go in the dolphin and turtle cruise which we absolutely loved. We got to snorkel with turtles and then see a pod of dolphins close up leaping and playing. Cherished memories. The spa is lovely and my husband and daughter had a massage which they said was wonderful. The gym is well equipped with everything you need for a good workout to work off some of the outstanding food that you will not be able to stop yourself from enjoying. The people……..what can I say, every single one of them are fabulous. When we first arrived Read MoreMy wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at Finolhu Resort and we had a great time. It was a very pleasant experience from arrival until departure. We stayed seven nights. When we first arrived at Velana International Airport (MLE) we were greeted by Finolhu Airport Supervisor Manday. Manday collected our luggage and escorted us to the Trans Maldivian Air ticket counter and assisted us with checking luggage, boarding passes, etc, and then drove us 10 minutes in a comfortable van over to the seaplane terminal and then escorted us up to the lounge to wait for our seaplane flight to Baa Atoll. While waiting in the lounge, Finolhu staff member assisted us with downloading the Finolhu App on my mobile phone and checking into our overwater villa online. Shortly after that we boarded the seaplane for a 30 minute flight to Baa Atoll. Upon arrival at the resort, we were greeted by several Finolhu staff members as the seaplane docked. We received a warm welcome from the General Manager, Sr staff members, and other employees. We also received refreshing welcome drinks, and then our personal host drove us in a golf cart to our overwater villa. Our personal host was Saju, and she was awesome! We connected on WhatsApp and were able to effectively communicate during our stay. If we needed anything we contacted Saju, and she took care of us. Our one bedroom overwater lagoon villa (room 137) was clean, spacious, and had a great view. Our housekeeper Resco came every morning to clean the room and again every evening for turndown service. From the flat screen TV in our villa, we had access to a listing of daily activities including excursions, island entertainment, restaurant hours, etc. The resort offers a wide range of activities for all ages. Service and food quality in all five restaurants was amazing. Would like to recognize Head Chef Emmanuel for making our dining experiences very special. Our favorite bartender at Beach Club was Sushma – the best bartender in the world! Sushma kept us very tipsy with refreshing signature cocktails. Upon departure from the resort, the same staff members who greeted us on arrival were there at the seaplane dock to say farewell. It was a very emotional departure as if we were leaving family members behind. When we arrived back at MLE airport, we were once again greeted by Finolhu Airport Supervisor Manday, who escorted us to Qatar Airways ticket counter for bagged check, boarding passes, and then escorted us through security and got us on our way.
